Donors and Partners

Caritas Czech Republic has been working with a number of significant donors for a long time. Their support allows us to provide humanitarian aid and engage in development cooperation in target countries. We thank our partners for their support. 

Czech Ministry of foreign affairs   

Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has been a donor to Caritas Czech Republic’s work since the beginning of our involvement in Syria.  

Thanks to the financial suport of the MFA, many humantiarian and development projects could be realized in Syria and other target countries. Namely, it contributed to our projects Support of the most vulnerable in Damascus, Emergency Shelter Rehabilitation for IDPs in Idleb and Integrated emergency livelihoods activities targeting vulnerable and marginalized youth in Idlib, Syria.

European Commission 

Of the international agencies and organizations, the European Commission is one of our largest donors. It financed 13.5% of our budget for international aid in 2019.  

We currently cooperate with the European Comission on our project in Syria where we aim to contribute to the sustainable and equitable development of communities. *In particular, the project 'Empowering Civil Society in Northwest Syria' is realized thanks to the support of the European Commission.

Violet 

The Syrian NGO Violet started their activities in 2012 after the beggining of the war in Syria.  

Violet is one of our major partners in the Middle East and our main partner organization in Syria and Türkiye.  

Two projects have already been completed in collaboration with Violet. In 2020 we have improved living conditions of 155 vulnerable households through an emergency shelter rehabilitation in NWS and in 2021 we worked together on a project for creation of livelihood oportunities forvulnerable and marginalized youth in Idlib.  

At the moment we are cooperating on two projects: Empowering Civil Society in Northwest Syria and Emergency response to the victims of the earthquake in Norwest Syria.

SARD 

SARD is an NGO who aims to provide access to longer-term livelihood solutions and more sustainable services, revitalizing local economies and increasing resiliency, leading to sustainable recovery for all Syrians.  
 
We partnered with SARD in 2023 on a project for Life saving and life sustaining assistance to people affected by the earthquake in Idleb and Northern Aleppo.

Ministry of the Interior of the Czech republic 

The Czech Ministry of Interior has been a long-term parter of Caritas Czech Republic. During our cooperation, multiple donations have been made toward projects focusing on development in the Middle East.

In 2017 a sponsorship gift from the Czech Ministry of the Interior, contributed to the operation of multiple clicis providing medical care in Aleppo, Syria.  Thanks to the financial assistance, Caritas Czech Republic helped the clinics to provide 9 900 health services including X-ray screenings, surgeries, deliveries, regular consultations, as well as provision of medicine.

Polska Akcja Humanitarna 

Polska Akcja Humanitarna provides, among other things, humanitarian aid to people affected by the conflict in Syria, It supports both poeple who have been internally displaced due to the war, as well as refugees coming to Poland.  
 
In partnership with Polska Akcja Humanitarna in 2014, we provided humanitarian assistance to the victims of the conflict in Syria. In our help, we focused mainly on the provision of material aid and securing access to adequate medical services.

Good Shepherd Sisters 

Good Shepherd Sisters is an NGO whose mission is to promote and defend the rights of women and children in distress or precarious situations and to help them thrive in a healthy environment. This organisation  is active in admirable number of 72 countries. 

Together we provided material aid in Damascus and Idheb. We also provided humanitarian assistance to the victims of the conflict in Syria as well as to the internally displaced population.

Medair 

Medair is an international NGO dedicated to alleviating human suffering in Africa, Europe and in Middle East.  

Together with Medair, we completed a project for reduction of suffering and water related illnesses among vulnerable host and IDP population in Homs and Rural Damascus in Syria. Thanks to this project, more tha 20 100 people gained a better access to clean drinking water. 

MEDAIR

Jesuit Refugee Service 

Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organisation whose programmes are currently found in over 50 countries. Their work aims at serving refugees, other forcibly displaced persons and members of the host communities. 

We worked with JRS on enabling clinics to provide necessarry health services to internally displaced people as well to members of the host community in Aleppo.

International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation 

Through its activities, International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation works toward alleviating human suffering, hunger, and illiteracy among all people regardless of nationality, ethnicity, race, color, social origin, religion, belief, language, political opinion, gender, age, and sexual orientation, genetic and physical features. 

International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation was our parter organization in Afghan Response in Türkiye where we aimed at covering the needs of Afghan refugees.  

Since 2023 we operate in Türkiye where together with our partner organisations, we provide earthquake emergency humanitarian aid.
