Material Aid for Damascus and Idheb

Duration: April 2016–November 2016 

Context: 

According to analysis of CCR in 2015 and 2016, access to health services got worse due to destroyed infrastructure, insufficient medical supplies, leaving of medical staff and power blackouts.More than 11 millions of Syrian were in need of medical aid, 58% of hospitals and 46% of medical facilities kept working that time.   

Project Goal: 

To support internally displaced citizens and vulnerable communities affected by conflicts. 

Implementation and results: 

  • 3,95 tons of medical supplies were provided in two deliveries to 10 300 patients in total - 3 090 kg for 7 800 patients in Mara’ean facility, 857 kg for 2 500 patients in Khan Shykhon facility. 
  • 297 coupons were distributed to 46 vulnerable families, 229 families in danger were provided with non-food help such as clothes and shoes and 209 with household equipment. 
  • 219 children were provided with school supplies. 
  • 18 families in danger received one-time aid in order to renew their destroyed households.
