Support of the most vulnerable in Damascus

Duration: April 2016–December 2018 

Context:  

The long-lasting Syrian conflict seriously affected the economic, political and social situation of the country. Around a half of the total Syrian population was since the beginning of the conflict in 2011 forced to leave their home, yet most of them, despite the difficult situation, stayed in Syria. 

Implementation and results: 

  • After a careful examination of the living conditions of the families identified as potential beneficiaries, the ones in the biggest need of food and non-food aid were selected. 
  • A total of 2354 families received food vouchers for amounts sufficient for at least one  month. 
  • A total of 334 households also received vouchers for clothing, 826 families obtained vouchers for essential household items, and 628 households got vouchers for hygiene supplies, 292 families were provided with cleaning items 
  • 83 students were assisted with professional courses in order to give them opportunity to improve their chances of finding a job they would like. 

 

Total Budget: 168 801 + 184 951 EUR
